I came across these modern water decanters at luxist.com. The one on the left is designed for still water and it allows the H2O to rest at the bottom, while the one on the right  allows the air bubbles to rise to the top for sparkling water. BS? Who knows, but they look great. Each decanter is about 14 inches high and costs $580 on the Christofle website.
